Purpose, Audience, Authors, and Acknowledgements

Purpose

New therapeutic agents have substantially increased the likelihood of treating depression successfully while minimizing side effects. This self-study activity provides practical guidance to primary care clinicians concerning key aspects of care for depression including:

  • Recognizing depression
  • Treating it aggressively and effectively
  • Prescribing cost-effectively

Audience
This self-study activity is appropriate for primary care clinicians and other health care providers providing care for adults with depression.
