Welcome! Before you begin, this self-study CME Web site has several
important features and options.
Navigation
The main informational sections are outlined at the top of the screen.
Activity
This CME activity is a video and slide presentation. As the video lecture
proceeds, the slides advance automatically. We recommend that you:
- Read the introductory information: "orientation," "purpose,
audience & acknowledgements," and "about CME self study & credit."
- Go to "presentation" to watch to the lecture and see
the slides.
- Go to "CME test & credit request" to complete the
knowledge test and the form registering for credit and evaluating the
activity.
The presentation requires a specific computer operating system (Windows
98, 2000 or XP), web browser (Internet Explorer 5.5 or greater), and
media player (Windows Media Player). See the “technical specifications” below
for more detail.
Immediate Feedback and Credit
The knowledge test is immediately scored and correct answers explained.
If you request CME credit, you immediately receive your certificate.
Funding – No Fee
Wyeth Pharmaceuticals provided an unrestricted educational grant for this
self-study CME activity. No fee is charged for participating in this
CME activity.
Technical Specifications
Before the presentation starts, your computer will be automatically checked
for following items needed for the presentation.
- a PC computer with a Microsoft Windows Operating System: 98, 2000,
or XP. (Windows NT and MAC operating systems are not supported at this
time)
- a dialup or full-time connection to the Internet. (A 56Kbit baud
modem on dial-up connection is adequate, though faster connections
will result in improved performance.)
- a web browser: Microsoft Internet Explorer 5.5 or higher that is “Javascript
enabled.” AOL users must update their browsers to IE6.0. (Netscape
and other web browser are not supported at this time.)
- a media player: Windows Media Player 7.1 or better.
- a screen resolution of 800 x 600 or greater.
