5th Annual Cardiac and Vascular CT October 22 - 23, 2009 Inn at St. John's Plymouth, MI 14.75 AMA PRA Category 1 credits™
Program Objectives:
This year’s program is divided into two separate sections. The first section is dedicated to cardiac and vascular CT imaging, with formal didactic lectures on the first day covering techniques and interpretation of cardiac and vascular imaging. This session can be extended into a second day of supervised cardiac CT case reviews that satisfy the American College of Radiology and American College of Cardiology recommendations for credentialing. The second section of the meeting is a review of new topics in CT imaging for radiology technologists.
Target Audience:
Physicians, imaging technologists, and health care providers interested in cardiac CT and vascular disease, and/or cutting edge CT imaging.
Topics:
Cardiac & Vascular CT

50 Mentored Cardiac CT Case Reviews
7.25 Credit Hours
This activity consists of reviewing over 50 cardiac CT cases by faculty on dedicated advanced processing workstations using an interactive audience response system. This session provides dedicated CME credits in cardiac CT imaging, and the cases can be applied towards professional society recommendations for clinical competence in cardiac CT. Cases will include normal and anomalous coronary anatomy, and the evaluation and interpretation of both coronary and non-coronary cardiac disease, both basic and advanced in complexity.
Upon completion, participants should be able to:
- Recognize normal cardiac anatomy and normal and anomalous coronary anatomy
- Understand interpretation strategies for coronary CT plaque characterization and stenosis grading
- Evaluate bypass grafts
Program:
- Case Reviews: Anatomy, Anomalies, Pitfalls, Miscellaneous
- Coronary CTA Case Review: Atherosclerosis/Bypass Grafts/Miscellaneous
- Coronary CTA Case Review: Atherosclerosis/Bypass Grafts/Miscellaneous
- Coronary CTA Case Review: Advanced Atherosclerosis/ Bypass Grafts/Miscellaneous
CT Update for Radiology Technologists
Friday, October 23, 2009
Upon completion of the radiology technologist session, participants should be able to:
- Describe scanning techniques and protocols for CT scanning of the body, including cardiac and vascular protocols.
- Understand radiation safely in cardiac CT and how to minimize radiation exposure.
Program:
- Evolving Technology & Recent Advances HD750
- Coronary CT Angiography: Patient Preparation & Pitfalls
- Anatomy for Cardiac CT
- Coronary CT Angiography and Calcium Scoring: Technique & Protocols
- Dose Reduction in Coronary CT Angiography
- Post-Processing Techniques in CT
- Pulmonary Vein CTA
- CT for Peripheral Vascular Disease: Pathology with Clinical Examples
- Live Demonstration of Post-Processing Techniques
